Five garden fruits

The tomatoes might be dismal this year but at least there are some other fruit to admire...

Watermelon just starting to form, almost ripe passion fruit - our first one ever,  pumpkins along the side fence, delicious plums, thornless blackberry.

Are you enjoying fruit from your garden at the moment?

  1. So envious of your watermelon. Can't grow it here as the season is not hot enough long enough. Some people have grown rock melons. Haven't had much luck with the passionfruit either come to think of it

    1. We have 3 passionfruit vine and this is the only one with fruit. It is in a raised bed in a sunny spot and not all the flowers have turned into fruit. Not sure why!

  2. I may be forced to sneak into your garden and steal all the passionfruit... ;)

    2. But then you'd have to share it. :P

Oh, and I've had to move the high tea event to the 14th of April... someone booked out the ENTIRE venue on the 7th!! Will you be in the country then? Let me know if you can come :)

  4. Fantastic watermelon - I've always wanted to try to grow it. Is it tricky?

    1. Well it is only tiny at the moment (I think the photo might be a bit misleading) but the vines are pretty healthy and there are lots more little fruit coming. It's in a no dig bed (ie lots of organic matter) in full sun. Will keep posted on progress.

  5. Passionfruit! Lucky you! We've tried growing that here in Canberra, but the winter frosts are too severe for it. We had our first nectarine this morning - sweet, a great size and it somehow managed to avoid all the bugs and birds circling our garden (unlike many of its siblings)!
